Nikon Coolpix AW 130 – Best Underwater Camera on a Budget
Howdy folks! Welcome to Nikon Coolpix AW 130 review, one of the best underwater cameras on a budget. We took this fella for a spin, check out the full review below.
It’s very durable
This waterproof camera can handle a lot. It goes up to 30 meters (100 feet) underwater, which is far more than most underwater cameras – up to 50 feet more to be precise. It can go down to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) without freezing, not much different from most cameras. This little beauty can be dropped from 2 meters (7 feet) without being damaged, which is pretty cool and more than other cameras can handle.
Outstanding image quality
Nikon Coolpix AW 130 is a camera that gives you great image quality both on land and underwater, creating a perfect mix of those two contradicted worlds. Images taken with this camera have an extremely accurate representation of colors, with shading of all those colors done in the highest fashion.
Underwater images might turn out a little darker than with some other cameras, but the sharpness of taken pictures will blow you away. You can clearly see the contrast between all the colors of the sea world, so clearly that you might stop breathing so you don’t inhale any water. Even when you zoom in, the picture stays sharp and distinct, allowing you to see even the smallest sea creatures in their fullest color range.
Even a child can use it with ease
This camera is so easy to use that you will learn all of its features very fast. There are no confusing and tough to go through menus, and it’s very easy to change parameters for your images. This gem has a lot of built-in features, like a wide variety of editing options (cropping, retouching, data imprinting and more).
Also, there’s a nice handful of different scene modes that adjust the parameters for specific scenes and situation, saving you plenty of time. The gizmo also has an adjustable shutter speed that feature can help you take still pictures of objects moving at high speed, such as a cheetah running – if you are brave enough to go near cheetahs, that is.
If you are a social media buff, then this is the best underwater camera for you. It has a built-in Wi-Fi so you can send your images as soon as you take them from this camera to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth or NFC. Other than that, it has GPS feature that remembers for you the exact location of where your picture was taken.
